Virginia Wygal
Sewing
Virginia Wygal spent over 30 years in the garment industry, where she designed clothing, led creative teams, and served as a Director of Product Development. Her love of fabrics, textures, and design runs deep — and today she channels that experience into a variety of creative pursuits.
As a mixed media collage artist, Virginia creates sculptural pieces using fabrics, fibers, and stitching, bringing new life to materials with a rich history. She’s also an online educator, teaching fabric-centered arts, patternmaking, and small business practices to makers around the world. Through her weekly podcast, The Textile Creative, she shares inspiration, practical tips, and encouragement for creatives who love working with fabric.
In her classes, Virginia combines her industry know-how with her passion for helping others grow creatively, guiding students from their very first stitches to advanced techniques that unlock a whole new world of fabric and fiber making.
