Paper Collage with Sally Wilkins
Join artist Sally Wilkins for a creative and inspiring weekend exploring the art of paper collage in this 2-day workshop on Sept. 13th and 14th.
Day 1: Using a variety of vintage and contemporary materials—including old letters, book pages, and magazine images—you’ll create a richly layered 22” x 30” paper collage as your foundation. Sat Sept. 13, 1:00PM-4:00PM
Day 2: We’ll transform your collage by cutting it into smaller pieces to create handmade cards or unique wall art. Add personal touches with markers, pencils, threads, and even embellishments like beads and charms. Sun Sept. 14, 1:00PM-4:00PM

Jewelry I (Beg) with Marthalee Boles
Discover the art of necklace-making in this intimate and inspiring workshop! Beyond mastering the fundamental techniques, you’ll delve into the philosophy of design, learning how to transform materials into meangful, wearable art. By the end of the class, you’ll have created a stunning necklace that not only fills you with pride but also captivates and impresses your friends.
This workshop includes examples and guidance on how to elevate your skills and push the boundaries of what you learn. With a class limited to just 6 students, you’ll receive personalized attention and coaching to help you bring your vision to life.

This workshop comes fully equipped with everything you’ll need to create your masterpiece. You’ll have access to a generous selection of strands of beads, gemstones and pendants to inspire your design. Your personalized kit will include tools, beading cord, bead caps, spacers, crimps, and an elegant clasp to finish your necklace beautifully.

How to Use a Hydraulic Press with Elsa Grivas
Let’s add texture or images to your metal by using a hydraulic press! In this 5-hour workshop you will learn how to cut shapes using pancake dies. This is great for jewelry production work. You will also learn how to “puff up” your work using silhouette dies. If we have time, you can shape metal into a synclastic bracelet. We will have a one-hour lunch break.

Using Gold-Filled Metal for Jewelry Fabrication with Mary Fritsche
In this course, students will review various options available for gold-filled materials, examine how the material is made and learn the best practices for soldering gold-filled.
Students will begin with soldering and practicing on simple jump rings. Next, students will fabricate 2 finished pieces, using wire and 14k gold filled sheet.

JEWELRY II (Int) Potpourri with Marthalee Boles
Discover the “Potpourri of Beads” technique!
This class invites you to push creative boundaries as you craft a one-of-a-kind, out-of-the-ordinary necklace. While a generous supply of beads and findings will be provided, you are encouraged to select 3 to 5 large-hole beads that resonate with you emotionally. These beads will serve as a symbolic portal, guiding and connecting the various strands of your design.

Bi Metal Etching Workshop with Elsa Grivas
Learn the fascinating process of combining copper and fine silver to create bi-metal in this engaging workshop. Over two days, you will explore the art of etching bi-metal to craft intricate designs and transform your creation into a stunning pendant. On the first day, you will master the techniques of fusing copper and silver, followed by etching the bi-metal to bring your designs to life. The second day focuses on shaping your bi-metal using a hydraulic press and forming it into a hollow pendant. This workshop is perfect for intermediate or advanced students looking to expand their skills in metalworking.

Little Golden Book Journal with Julie Mortillaro
Create a fun and easy junk journal from Little Golden Books. We will deconstruct the orignal book and put it all back together filled with all sorts of different papers. No sewing or binding. Pages will be tied in with elastic so more papers can be added later.

Master String Theory with Marthalee Boles
Discover the “String Theory” Technique!
Step into a new world of creativity with this one-of-a-kind class! The “String Theory” technique showcases the beauty and versatility of tiny seed beads, offering limitless possibilities for design and expression. Let your imagination guide you as you explore this innovative approach to jewelry making.
What to Bring:
As you are aware by now, there will be a generous supply of beads and other findings with which to work, but if you have some tiny accent beads that hold personal signigicance please do bring them to incorporate into your creations. These could include unique shapes, iconic symbols, totems,crosses, crystals, or other small treasures that inspire you. Keep in mind that the accent beads shold be very small, as shown in tin the class image. You may also wish to bring a few slightly larger gemstones to incorporate into your design.
Tools and Materials:
This class introduces unusual tools tailored specifically for the “String Theory” technique. Your typical tools from Jewelry I and II will not be needed. Instead, an array of class-specific tools will be provided for your work. Your kit will also include seed beads in various colors from which to choose, stringing material, findings, crystals, and other beads to incorporate in your creation.
You are encouraged to bring magnifying readers and light if that will enhance your work. This is a challenging, gratifying technique that is designed, again, to open new avenues of expanded creative vision for you.
