We Be Bezeling - Sam Woehrmann

Registration fee $720

This class offers hands-on instruction in bezel fabrication using 22k gold combined with either 18k gold or sterling silver. Students will learn to create bezel settings for a range of stones, including faceted gems with interior seats, geometric rose cuts, raw stones like pearls and crystals, and tube-set sapphires and diamonds. Techniques are designed to allow for soldering settings—sometimes with stones already in place—into intricate or hard-to-reach areas. The approach emphasizes intuitive craftsmanship, with no math required.

The course includes demonstrations on designing and assembling multi-stone cluster arrangements, soldering multiple settings onto ring bands, and securely setting gems into the bezels created. Practical tips will be shared for stabilizing pieces during setting, as well as methods for efficient finishing and cleanup.

In addition to fabrication techniques, the class will cover pricing strategies, tracking materials and labor costs, and how to create the look of high-karat gold affordably by incorporating small amounts of it into designs.
