Bookbinding Department Chair

After working in UNT’s rare book room in preservation and restoration, I discovered my love of the almost-lost art of bookbinding. My favorite thing about teaching is encouraging younger students who are interested in pursuing this art. Bookbinding can incorporate almost any medium, so most binders have other art pursuits such as watercolor, metals, and woodworking which can all be included in the binding process to make a book a one-of-a-kind work of art.
